A little background on why I think we need to work together. First I think both the grass roots Tea Party and the Occupy Wall Street movement want a government that is not for sale. I don’t think the grass roots Tea Party folks or those in the Occupy Wall Street movement want our government taking more taxes from citizens and giving that money to big corporations. Especially if those corporations are going to just use the money in reckless ways or invest it in other countries.
I also believe that most people don’t want to pay taxes to “too big to fail companies.” America doesn’t want to pay taxes to bail out the largest companies. I think many of those companies only have contempt for the American people. The political practices of many of these companies is like a virus that has invaded the DNA of America. There are remedies but treating the patient by making the viruses stronger is probably not one of them. The grass roots Tea Party and Occupy movements are the social organism’s way of trying to get rid of the bad viruses.
What the grass roots Tea Party and Occupy movements are saying is that some of the social rules are broken. No longer are problems in the system outliers. The rules have changes where harming America’s interest for a profit has become the new normal. People see this and they don’t like it.
